The Zero Waste Education (ZWE) programme has been educating children about the topic of sustainable resource use since 1993.

This award winning programme is now offered to over 500 schools nationwide to students in years 1-8 each year.

Additionally there is a unit for preschools and a Waste Audit unit being developed for year 9 or 10 classes in secondary schools. * Note that these are only available in some council areas across New Zealand, contact our office to learn more.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED TO SCHOOLS:

Pre school - ZERO THE NO RUBBISH HERO *

Year 1 and Year 2 - IS THAT REALLY RUBBISH & LITTERLESS LUNCHES

Year 3 and Year 4 - REDUCING THE RUBBISH PILE & REUSING

Year 5 and Year 6 - RECYCLING & COMPOSTING: Nature's recycling factory

Year 7 and Year 8 - RESOURCE SUSTAINABLITY & WATER

As the units alternate each year, students will constantly recieve new material. They will have received 9 units by the time they leave Year 8.

Zero Waste Education is offered in both English and Te Reo in the Tauranga City and Western Bay of Plenty District Council areas.
